Bioinformatics Graduate Student Association

Bioinformatics Graduate Student Association “BIGSA”

As we pursue academic excellence, we’ll always need to communicate with both leaders in the field as well as fellow students. We, the graduate students of the the Institute of Bioinformatics at the University of Georgia, therefore, resolve to establish the Bioinformatics Graduate Students Association (BIGSA).

BIGSA is established for the expressed purpose of

  1. Creating and maintaining a cohesive bioinformatics community at UGA.
  2. Providing the structure for mutual support, cooperation, and academic development.
  3. Providing the means for engaging each other socially and intellectually.
  4. Striving to share our understanding of bioinformatics by organizing various ways of informing the broader community about how and when the concept of bioinformatics overlaps with various other academic disciplines.
