IOB Seminar – Dr. Mark Styczynski

The Styczynski lab uses bioinformatics and computational biology to characterize and understand complex biological systems.  In this seminar, I will discuss some of our work in two different research threads that each seek to exploit systems biology datasets to their fullest.  I will describe our efforts to directly integrate diverse “omics” datasets (lipidomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc.) acquired in a study of a non-human primate model of malaria. I will also describe our efforts to develop the first metabolic modelling framework with the potential to be both genome-scale and dynamic, and which uniquely allows us to exploit metabolomics data directly.
